Samhain Sintra Fire Fest

The Samhain Sintra Fire Fest is happening between October 31 to November 2 at Quinta da Riba Fria in Sintra. It is an immersive cultural festival celebrating the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marks the end of the harvest season, the onset of winter, and the thinning of the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead.. The event revives ancestral customs with a focus on Celtic-inspired music, storytelling, and communal feasting, creating a “supernatural celebration of stories, music, food, mischief, and spectacle.”

The program includes live music with Celtic-inspired performances and folk tunes, spectacular fire dancing and bonfires, talks and workshops on ancient knowledge and mythologies, mythical parades and storytelling sessions around fires. A market with artisan stalls will also be on display, with diverse vendors selling spices, textiles, and folklore-inspired items. You can also find taverns and tascas serving ancestral flavors.
