Bacalhôa Buddha Eden

Bacalhôa Buddha Eden, often referred to simply as Buddha Eden, is a sprawling and tranquil garden located in the central region of Portugal, near the town of Bombarral. This serene sanctuary, which spans over 35 hectares, is celebrated as the largest oriental garden in Europe.

The garden is meticulously landscaped and dotted with numerous sculptures and art installations. One ofthe main attractions is the collection of gigantic Buddha statues, which are reminiscent of those destroyed in Bamiyan. These statues are interspersed with various other elements of Buddhist iconography, such as pagodas, terracotta soldiers, and serene lakes filled with Koi fish.

  5.     Modern Art Installations: Scattered throughout the garden are contemporary art pieces, including works by artists such as Alexander Calder and Joana Vasconcelos, blending traditionaland modern aesthetics.
