Dance in Sintra

International Dance Day is celebrated on April 29, and the Sintra municipality has prepared a series of initiatives that combine tradition and contemporaneity, and which aim to pay tribute to this art form in all its forms.

Dance Month reaffirms Sintra’s dedication to promoting dance as a living, accessible and elevated art, bringing together renowned dancers, a Portuguese contemporary dance company and the public, in a meeting of celebration and sharing.

The Olga Cadaval Cultural Centre will be the stage for this program, in which it will be possible to watch two documentaries, hold two masterclasses dedicated to contemporary dance and classical dance, an Afro House Dance & Breaking workshop, and also watch the show “Quorum Dance Company – Correr o Fado”.

At the end of the month, Quinta da Ribafria hosts the Corpo Festival, which showcases a range of dance genres, performed by different training courses and academies from various national and international locations.
