The Óbidos International Literature Festival had its first edition in 2015 and has become one of Portugal’s leading literary events. With a diverse programme spread over eleven intense days.

This festival does not limit literature to the space of books, but creates unlikely relationships of humanisation, understanding and community, and makes possible the convergence between the space that literature occupies and the space that is occupied by literature, broadening the conception and the possibility of multiplying literature and other sectors of economic activity in an exponential relationship, where creativity gives way to innovation.

Folio – Óbidos International Literary Festival” is back for another edition, bringing together writers, readers, artists, musicians, books, lyrics and many different points of view, focusing on internationalisation on the one hand, but also on involving local communities.

Divided into five chapters – Authors, Folia, Educa, Ilustra and Bohemia – the festival offers many hours of programming involving numerous direct participants, including authors, thinkers, artists and creatives, who take part in the various activities that make up the programme, including writers’ tables, concerts and exhibitions!
