Peniche – Portugal: Month of the Sea

The “November, Month of the Sea” is an annual program organized by the Municipality of Peniche  to celebrate the National Sea Day (November 16) and the region’s deep connection to the ocean. It showcases Peniche’s maritime identity through cultural, sporting, educational, gastronomic, and environmental sustainability activities. It runs the full month of November and the 2025 edition includes events such as workshops on protecting marine life, surf competitions and other water sports, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and presentations, storytelling, film screenings, showcooking, among others. Main venues include the Peniche Cultural Building Auditorium, the School of Tourism and Sea Technology (ESTM), the Municipal Library, beaches, the Lace Museum and Atouguia da Baleia Interpretive Center.
